Sometimes

Sometimes a phone call from a school wakes you up.

Sometimes it’s a frantic rush to get ready and out of the house on time.

Sometimes you still manage to get to work early.

Sometimes you don’t.

Sometimes you are familiar with the staff and students at a school.

Sometimes you receive a helpful overview of the day ahead.

Sometimes you get a warm welcome from the students.

Sometimes you don’t.

Sometimes you have a duty or two during your breaks.

Sometimes you have marking to do.

Sometimes you get time for a cup of tea.

Sometimes you don’t.

Sometimes you need to run to the bathroom.

Sometimes your to-do list is long.

Sometimes you feel like you’re making a difference.

Sometimes you don’t.

Sometimes your lessons go as planned.

Sometimes your students respond well.

Sometimes you’re having a good day.

Sometimes you’re not.

Sometimes there are things going on outside of work that distract you.

Sometimes you can feel yourself getting sick.

Sometimes you can push through.

Sometimes you can’t.

Sometimes a student will cry.

Sometimes a student will laugh at the wrong time.

Sometimes a student will follow instructions.

Sometimes they won’t.

Sometimes a student just won’t get it.

Sometimes a student will surprise you.

Sometimes a lot of new learning takes place.

Sometimes it doesn’t.

Sometimes you have questions.

Sometimes you get asked questions.

Sometimes you have the answers.

Sometimes you don’t.

Sometimes we remember why we do what we do.

Sometimes we make the most of our opportunities.

Sometimes we know how much we’re impacting the lives of those around us.

Sometimes we don’t.
